Lessons from the Life of David. #1

Today we start a new series at MGF; looking at what we can learn from the life of David.

We all know David; he beat Goliath; he was a man after God's own heart; yet he was a man with troubles.

Today we see David being anointed and can learn a lot from what he does afterwards.

David does not push to become king but returns to tending the sheep, telling us much about anointing, appointment and apprenticeships.

Your place at God's Table.

In the message today, Pastor Vic completes the mini-series we started a number of weeks ago.

Nunsy taught about the table of abundance; the table of rest; the table of the finished work of Jesus in one of those messages.

Today,  Pastor Vic reminds us of that table through the account of King David receiving Mephibosheth, at his table, as a son.

In this masterpiece of typology, we see that we are Mephibosheth and we have a right to sit at the Lord's table and receive of His absolute best.

Unbelief is Deadly!

In the message this week, Nunsy reminds us of a truth that all born again believers should be aware of.

Just like Peter, when he walked on the water, if we let things in the natural take over our belief of what the Lord has told us, then we will allow circumstances to overwhelm us.

Unbelief will cause the Word of God to be of 'nil effect' in our lives and we will do stupid things and make stupid decisions!

If you exalt carnal things above what God says then that will 'kill' you!

We need to magnify God above the carnal so that we will know and believe the truth of what the Word of God says about us.

You need to listen to , and be blessed by, this very practical teaching.

Rest in His Finished Work.

This week Nunsy exhorts us to rest in the finished work of the cross.

This 'rest' is the 'Sabbath Rest' and, through it, every born again believer can experience God's full provision for their every need.

All that we need has been provided and we can reach out, in faith, and take all that we need from God's provision.

Be blessed and rest in the full provision of what has been provided through Jesus.

 

The Glory of God is within you!

This week, Nunsy reminds us that the Glory of God, that was given to Jesus, has been passed on to us by Jesus!

But everyone of us has been born with spiritual blindness. Using the blind man in John 9, Nunsy shows us the need to have that spiritual blindness taken away by the Word; ie: Jesus!

The Glory of God is full of grace and truth and reveals the true nature of God to us: He is love; His heart is for us. He wants the true nature of the Kingdom to be presented to the world through us!

Spiritual blindness can only be removed by the Word!

Are you opposing God without realising it?

This week, Nunsy uses the example of Saul to show what happens when we oppose God.

Saul, by not following God's Word for him, not only opposed God, he also opposed himself!

Saul, by going against God's Word, harmed himself and gave the enemy access to his life and God no longer exalted Saul.

Submitting to God's Word is absolutely the best thing we can do for our lives; submitting to God's Word will allow the love and power of God to flow through us.

If we love God we will not hinder Him by our own thinking. When you go with God's Word you will crucify the flesh and do the right thing, even when it hurts!

The importance of understanding God's Word!

In this week's message, Pastor Vic takes us back to basics.

We hear about the truth of God's Word and how important it is to have knowledge and understanding of God's Word.

By renewing our minds, through God's Word, we can be in the perfect and acceptable will of God for our life.

But with understanding comes responsibility; we need to understand what God has done for us and how we can receive; the Word of God should be the first place we look when we are unsure about anything!

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit!

In the message today Pastor Vic discusses one of the most important, and controversial, doctrines under the New Covenant; the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

This is a secondary experience to salvation and is essential equipping and enabling for the born again believer.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit did not 'die away' with the Apostles; it is as essential today as it was in the Book of Acts.

In the message, Dave uses the example of four people of the Old Testament to show that each and every believer can be used by God.

God has a purpose for each one of us and we can be in God's will for our lives through His Word; by studying it and by meditating on it.

Through God's Word we can be ready for, 'such a time as this'.

The Character & Names of God: #8: God is Merciful!

Pastor Vic has a final look at one of the aspects of the character of God; this time that He is a God of mercy.

We see that we don't get what we deserve and then get what we don't deserve; all because of the finished work of Jesus.
