Fundamentals of Church. #1

In the message today Pastor Vic starts a new series called ‘Fundamentals of Church’.

He will be using Acts 2 v 42 as the basis for this teaching, seeing as this was the successful foundations of the church in Acts when we saw thousands saved with many signs and wonders being manifest.

In the first lesson in this series Pastor Vic covers what is meant by the apostles’ doctrine.

Righteousness by faith.

In the message today, Pastor Vic uses Old Testament scriptures to explain a New Covenant principle.

We look at the account of Cain and Abel, and use the typology in these verses to show how we are made righteous; how we gain acceptance from God.

Righteousness, by faith, was the way for Abel and also for us living under the New Covenant; but faith in what?

Today Pastor Vic finishes his series about the danger of staying offended. Today we look at forgiveness and how essential this is if we are to process an offence and then move away from it.

We are to model how we forgive on how God forgives; that is, we are to forgive everybody for everything!

This is an essential skill for the believer seeing that offence will surely come;  well, Jesus said it would.

Today we look at a number of "tools and strategies" to help in this area; all of which have loving and understanding the Word at their root.

We need a revelation about the true nature of God; how He loves us and that bad things are not from Him.

God has provided all that we need to live an abundant life.

Today we look at a number of things that could cause a believer to get offended; among them being a lack of love and study of the Word, selfishness, a religious mindset and an immaturity and lack of a "root system".

In a new series this week, Pastor Vic introduces the danger of staying offended.

In this introduction we see how important it is that a believer does not stay offended; we see that situations are sent from the enemy trying to snare us, and offend us, in order to steal, kill and destroy.

We have a responsibility to ourselves not to stay offended; but we also have a responsibility to others not to give offence.

Joseph: A man of forgiveness.

Today, Pastor Vic finishes our series on the life of Joseph.

We see that Joseph is a supreme example of how to live a life of forgiveness. He 'paid his brothers back' with love, mercy, compassion and forgiveness.

We can see a 'picture' of Jesus in the example of Joseph and also see that we should live a life of forgiveness.

Calling and Separation.

Following on from Pastor Vic's series on the life of Joseph, Nunsy picks up on what Paul refers to as, 'calling and separation'.

As we see in the Word, nobody's ministry happened overnight. They all took many years to see come to pass all that God had called them to.

For everyone of us there will be a period of time between God laying a plan, a purpose, or a ministry, on our heart, and seeing it come to pass. For Joseph that time period was 22 years.

Nunsy looks at 6 things to always bear in mind during that, 'in between time', after God 'calls us', before we are, 'separated unto it'.
