You are not an island!

Heb 10:23 - 25:  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Using the example of Paul, Pastor Vic exhorts the listener to recognise that our Christian life journey is not a solo occupation.

Wether that is a daily walk or a ministry walk, we need to recognise that it is not advisable to walk alone.

Paul did not just go into a full time ministry by himself. He not only had co-workers, and people under his authority, he was initially under the authority of Barnabus.

We need to be blessed and be a blessing!

Let God direct your paths.

Proverbs 3 : 5 - 6:  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Pastor Vic exhorts the listener to maintain a close relationship with the Lord to be able to hear from, and listen to, the Lord.

It is a simple process but not an easy one; it relies on you knowing the Lord through that close relationship so that the Lord can direct your paths.

You need to listen, trust and then obey Him!

You need to assure your heart.

1John 3:18 - 22:  My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 

Are you in agreement with God? Is your heart assured? Is your confidence in God?

Nunsy Cameron challenges us to recognise what our conscience is telling us. If our conscience tells us that we are a failure then we will be unable to receive from God.

We need to meditate on what Jesus provided through the finished work of the cross and assure our heart. It is our responsibility!

 

Your conscience is unreliable until it is purged.

Nunsy Cameron reminds us that we can only serve God when our conscience is purged and we start thinking right about ourselves!

As long as we are sin conscience, and self critical, we cannot serve God!

We need to be led by the Spirit of God to be the Sons of God!

 

 

God's Word is an incorruptible seed!

1 Peter 1:23 tells us that the Word of God is an incorruptible seed and Ephesians 1:3 tells us that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings.

However, you may not be experiencing those promised spiritual blessings in your life.

Pastor Vic reminds us that the Parable of the Sower tells us that the incorruptible Word of God needs to be planted in 'good ground'. It also needs to be nurtured; it is a process; it takes time; it needs care and attention, just like seeds planted in the natural, before you can reap the harvest!

 

Born again? You are reconciled & righteous!

Pastor Vic reminds us about two fundamental truths of what God has provided through Jesus.

Everyone has been forgiven of every sin and born again believers have been reconciled and made righteous!

 

Believe & inherit the promises of God.

In the parable of the sower, Jesus tells us that the Word of God is like a seed and that our heart is the ground for that seed.

The Word is an incorruptible seed but the believer has to choose to plant the seed of the Word in good ground; to plant in faith and believe that it will produce good fruit!

Nunsy Cameron, with this message, encourages the listener to do that to see that God is faithful!

Through faith in the Word, just like Caleb, the believer will inherit the 'land' that God has already provided!

 

 

You can't be what you can't see!

Pastor Vic continues to exhort us to expect blessings in our lives and that we need to know, and understand, that our true identity is in Christ.

But what is your identity based on? Is it based on what you see and hear in the world? Or is your identity based on the Word of God?

Are you expecting curses or blessings?

Pastor Vic exhorts the listener to assess their expectations of what they think will happen in their life!

How you identify yourself impacts your thoughts and words, and directs your life.

Going forward, what do you really expect to happen in your life?

Poverty or prosperity? #3

Pastor Vic uses the example of Joseph to challenge the listener to have a steward mindset.

We are called to use our master's resources wisely, just as Joseph did.

As well as ourselves, the people in our 'sphere of influence' will also benefit from those resources being used wisely.

Gen 39:5  And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
