Sunday 6th August - Simply Jesus 12

In our series we are seeing John talk about Jesus coming to end religion.

He tells us this in encounter after encounter.

And today Pastor Vic talks of the one answer of Jesus that sums up this whole theme.

We see that we are now to live through faith and not works, thus ending religion.

Sunday 30th July - Simply Jesus 11

In the sermon this week, Pastor Vic uses the account of the feeding of the five thousand to (once again) show us a picture of the end of religion.

We now receive from the Lord from a place of resting in Him, not from a place of work and effort.

We are now in relationship with Him, we are not in another religion.

In the sermon this week we look at the account in the Gospel of John when Jesus walks on the water to the disciples in the boat.

Jesus is willingly received into the boat and they are immediately taken to the other side.

This is a wonderful piece of typology; a picture of our salvation.

What can we learn about healing from this account?

We see another model of healing that includes personal responsibility and an element of action from the person requiring healing.

We continue our journey through the life and ministry of Jesus, moving onto His next two encounters in the book of John.

What can we learn from His meetings with Nicodemus, and the Samaritan woman at the well.

We see once again, that Jesus came to end religion.

Pastor Vic returns to teach this week, carrying on with his series called Simply Jesus.

This time he looks at the first time that Jesus cleanses the temple.

We learn that it can be OK to be angry and how blessed we are to live this side of the cross.

And of course, that Jesus came to ends religion!
